Property claim FAQs
Claim forms are not necessary but they do help us obtain the full circumstances of your property incident, which can aid a more proactive handling of your claim.
For major losses, or incidents where your property is unsecure, we recommend customers call our free claim hotline number: +44 (0)800 857 8388 to allow Travelers to help secure the property and authorise emergency repairs as quickly as possible.
Once immediate mitigation steps have been taken, our team will take all other details necessary to help progress the claim.
Should the completion of a claim form be most useful, we can send one to be filled out when needed.
Travelers will usually appoint an external loss adjuster to attend your property for any loss with an anticipated claim value of £10,000 or above.
Please note that an adjuster may be appointed at our behest for lower financial thresholds given special or unusual circumstances of a loss.
We work with a small adjuster panel who we believe give our customers access to the right adjuster for the right loss. And, we will inform you of the name of the appointed adjuster when we acknowledge your claim.
Travelers UK does not have a nominated glass repair panel, so each claim will be handled on its own merits using the customer’s own supplier.
- A minimum of one written estimate is required for all property losses.
- An estimate MUST be accompanied by photographs depicting the damaged area.
Where we believe another party is responsible for the incident, there are additional requirements:
- We’ll look to recover the cost of repairs from the responsible party.
- Two estimates for repair should always be obtained.

We believe that allowing our customers to access local trades and businesses in their area not only supports the local economy but also demonstrates a social consciousness to environmental, social and governance policies. As such, Travelers does not have an approved property repairer network that can provide services to our customers or third parties.
